Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Our family took the opportunity of the lovely rainy weather today to make an awesome trip to the open house of the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple. In Primary as well as nursery I just found out they have been doing a lot of things having to do with temples lately due to the fact that this new temple will be for our district. So every day, Ethan and Zachary come up to me...."Mommy I want to go to the temple"...."Mommy when are we going to the temple"....or he brings me the picture they gave him in Primary and says, "Oh look mom...it's cool...I want to go." How could we not take him right? So we took the opportunity to go today and it was beautiful! I have never been to a small temple before so it was slightly claustrophobic, however it took nothing from the spirit of the place and only made it more intimate. It never ceases to amaze me the reverence and the beauty of the temple. The kids loved it as well, Ethan and Zach wanted to swim in the baptismal font....and Ethan was sure that there was a dragon in the maintenance hatch.....that one we had to explain that if there ever were to be dragons in the temple they had to be kind loving dragons like Elliot on Pete's Dragon because they are there with Heavenly Father. All in all it was a wonderful trip. Adam and I are actually volunteering next week to help with the tours and everything which is pretty exciting. We just love our new little temple and it was wonderful to be able to be there with our little family.
